Worth the dosh?

The Slouchpod is currently at retail in the UK at the price of £299.00 so, judging the chair from a gaming perspective, it's difficult to slap our HEXUS.gaming 'Value For Money Award' on it; let's face it, you could go out and buy yourself 6-7 games for the same price or a brand new Xbox 360. But, as a multimedia product I'd still enthusiastically recommend it as an enhancement to your current audio experiences if you have the spare cash. First and foremost the Slouchpod's strengths lie in its supreme comfort when gaming, and secondly because product delivers on the audio experience that was promised.

The high price of the Slouchpod is mainly due to the manufacturing costs; the Slouchpod is being totally manufactured and all materials are being sourced within the UK. I'm all for supporting British manufacturing, but currently the £300 price tag is just £50 less than the Ultimate Gaming Chair (manufactured in China), which arrives in the UK in June and offers more features for your money, such as storage compartments, vibration, reclining adjustments and even a massage function; of course, I currently have no idea of the quality of this product. Is the Slouchpod the best gaming chair on the market at the moment and does it offer great value for money and an excellent array of functions? I'm not 100% convinced. If the price of the Slouchpod was closer to the £200 mark then I'd certainly buy one, but on the other side of the fence, a lot of people may say 'What's £300 these days when we're being charged up to £50 for a videogame?" They'd probably be right. If you do have the money to spend and want to enhance your gaming experience you won't regret purchasing it. I've thoroughly enjoyed having a Slouchpod in my house and I'm not looking forward to sending it back.

Pros
So comfortable you could sleep on it
Looks stylish
Enhances any multi-media device effectively

Cons
No storage space
Fairly expensive

Slouchpod Interactive XT is a bold purchase as £300, but if you've got the cash you won't regret it.

That looks like one massively overpriced bean bag, and bean bags are already massively overpriced.

I think for that price I'd rather get a nice 5.1 speaker system from someone like Logitech and make myself a bean castle with the dosh left over. Does sound pretty cool though.

Bean castle….now thats a cool project.
Looks interesting but I have a decent audio set up at home already so dont think I`d use the speakers in the chair.

Beancastle does sound cool veles ;)
I would think that people who can spend £300 on a chair would already have a nice home cinema system. Then the chair is just a fancy bean bag….

I would prefer a similar product with storage and no sound system.
Or a similar product that uses the tech philips where touting last year.

Stuff like enviromental effect so it vibrates at times etc
Id rather spend that sort of money on a lazy-boy style leather reclining chair!
