Jump into the Mean Machine for some wacky driving
Those childhood memories will be flooding back this summer as the animated TV series Wacky Races arrives on Wii and DS in June, sporting a new makeover. As soon as I heard the news my first reaction was that they should have brought this game to Xbox 360 and PS3 version so we can all have a blast playing online multiplayer, but sadly, it’s not to be. I’d hazard a guess that it will be a title that will probably try and make the most out of the unique controllers rather than providing a totally convincing racing experience.
Nevertheless, it should be a blast as the game will feature all the characters and cars from the TV series including old favorites: Turbo Terrific driven by Peter Perfect, the Ant Hill Mob in their Bullet Proof Bomb, Penelope Pitstop, and the Mean Machine driven by Dick Dastardly and his sidekick, Muttley.
This should mean that we’ll be able to use all of the gadgets that we all remember: laying traps with the mean machine, flying in the Creepy Coupe and leapfrogging over racers in the Crimson Haybailer! Bring it on!
Although the videogame is undoubtedly aimed at children and doesn’t look that great judging by these screenshots, we can’t wait to see what Eidos has done with the license.
Wacky Races: Crash & Dash will be available on Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS in June 2008.
