AMD has launched a rewards loyalty program for AMD Gaming Evolved members. The new program is called AMD Rewards (nothing to do with the Radeon Gold, Silver or Bronze Rewards). The AMD Rewards system uses points that are earned within the AMD Gaming Evolved app which users can spend on "free games, hardware, discounts, sweepstakes entries, and much more!"
It is claimed that "over $5m-worth of amazing stuff" is available for AMD Rewards participants right now in the AMD Rewards Store which is operated in partnership with Raptr. Goodies Gaming Evolved members can earn include headsets, games, subscriptions and there are also sweepstakes/competitions. We are told that the inventory in the store is "ever changing," so sometimes you will find things that appeal and other times not – just save your points until something pops up.
AMD says that you earn its Rewards points with little effort via a number of activities such as playing games, being active in the community and using the Gaming Evolved app. You might already have accrued "thousands" of points if you have been using the app in the last few weeks. Also as a 'celebration' of the kick off of the scheme points earned from gameplay are being tripled for a limited time. Intriguingly AMD adds that it will introduce other ways to earn points in the future, some of which will be 'secret'.
The AMD Gaming Evolved app helps gamers apply optimal setting in their games depending upon their system specs. It also has the capability to automatically update your drivers and livestream video gameplay. It is hoped that greater participation and use of the Gaming Evolved app will improve the quality of the optimisation recommendations given by the service and from then on it will become a useful self-sustaining system.
