Quake 4 patch

The Quake 4 multiplayer experience is set for an overhaul. In id Software's upcoming patch, entitled Quake 4 1.3 Point Release, they've took on board feedback from the online gaming community and now plan to add more features, changes to the gameplay, and enhance the overall performance of the first person shooter.

The patch is currently in the beta testing phase and the planned changes will extend the lifespan of the popular game. This is exciting news for dedicated fans of the series and hardcore professional gamers alike, who take the competitive aspect of Quake 4 extremely seriously.

"We feel these competition friendly changes, coupled with an all-new gametype, a new weapon, and several professionally made maps will extend the life of QUAKE 4 for all players. We’re currently in a small, private beta test of the point release and hope to have it out publicly sometime before QuakeCon," states Id software's official website.

Quakecon is North America's largest LAN event and sees thousands of gamers from across the world competing for huge cash prizes. This year, Quakecon will take place in Dallas, Texas on August 3-6, 2006.
