Jagex Games Studio, the UK's largest independent games developer and publisher, has won the Golden Joystick Award for the UK Developer of the Year, for the second year in succession.

Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard said of the achievement, “There was some really tough competition for this award and it goes without saying that we are incredibly delighted to be taking the award with us once again this year. I would like thank our incredible community who voted for us in their thousands and, on behalf of the entire Jagex team, I would like to dedicate this award to them. 2009/10 has been a significant year for Jagex, over the last 12 months we have moved into 3rd party publishing, launched our first iPhone games and continued to grow and develop RuneScape so it is fantastic to cap it off by winning such a prestigious award.”

Jagex beat off competition from Codemasters, EA Bright Light, Lionhead, Media Molecule, Rare, Rockstar North, Rocksteady Studios, SCE London Studio and Team 17 to win the Golden Joystick following a record breaking public vote of over 1.5 million gamers.
