Christmas shopping has probably left gaping holes in most of our wallets, but if you're in the mood for a last minute personal treat or two, head on over to the Steam store and take a look at the massive holiday sale.

The digital distribution network, operated by Valve, offers over 800 games and up until January 3rd, a selection of titles will be available at up to 80 per cent off the normal retail price.

In addition to a wave of deals running until January 3rd, Steam is also offering special discounts on a daily basis - with today's highlights including S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl for £1.39, Mirror's Edge for £3.24 and Grand Theft Auto IV for £4.99.

Massive savings are also available on Steam's popular developer packs. Take for example the Eidos' Collector's Pack, available for £35.49, it includes 20 popular titles - including the likes of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Battlestations Pacific.

i just picked up stalker for £1.39 superb price, am tempted by ghostbusters at £5.09 but not heard much about whether its any good or not
Why do they do this to me…? I can't resist such bargains!
Firing up Steam now….

EDIT: Gawd I hate trying to buy stuff on Steam. Just logging in is a half-day operation. Never mind actually buying anything.
Codemasters pack looks like a bargain, and the Rockstar looks like fun!

I hate these things at the same time though, theres always some good titles with bad ones, or ones you already have. Petz for Gods sake? Come on..
