Ubisoft performance spurred on by Assassin’s Creed

Five new brands planned for 2008

Ubisoft has announced their end of year sales results, which have seen a 44% increase on the same period last year and exceeded predicted forecasts for the third fiscal quarter.

Spurred on by the sales of Assassin’s Creed, the best-selling game in 2007 for the PS3 and the number 2 best-seller for the Xbox360, sales are up to €450 million, compared to €311 million last year.

As a result, Ubisoft has continued to gain further market share and has been ranked as the number 2 independent publisher in Europe and the number 3 independent publisher in the United States.

Ubisoft is also expecting a successful 2008 with big franchise such as Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, Lost, Haze and the return of Assassin’s Creed on PC and Nintendo DS in the planning.

Ubisoft’s 2008-9 line-up also includes further game in a number of popular franchises, including, Brothers In Arms, Spinter Cell, Far Cry and Prince of Persia. There are also 5 new brands planned, including , Tom Clancy's EndWar, Haze, the Shaun White snowboard game and a Tom Clancy air combat game,
