WOW player banned

A gamer has been banned from the hugely popular game 'World of Warcraft' for using a programmable Logitech keyboard.

Cyber criminal, 'Infernix' was shocked when he received an email from Blizzard terminating his account, especially when the Logitech keyboard in question was billed as 'being great for WOW.'
A gamer known only by the handle of 'Infernix' claims he was banned from 'World of Warcraft' for using a programmable Logitech keyboard while playing the game. Blizzard assumed he was running some sort of third party software.

'Infernix' emailed Blizzard with the following plea, "I have a programmable keyboard that will input keystrokes with the use of a macro button. I am unsure whether this is considered a violation because a keyboard is not 'third-party software'. I regret that this has happened and would like to ask you to reconsider your decision, if at all possible."

Blizzard replied, Your character was found interacting with the surroundings unattended and the advantage gained from this is a clear violation to both our Term of Use and a common sense of fair play.

Despite playing email tennis with Blizzard, the decision remains, no more WOW for this guy.

ouch - glad I dont play it with my nice G15 then :(
erm - what is it with the twisting of the info?.

“Your character was found interacting with the surroundings unattended” is the reason he was banned, so he was doing this with a programmable keyboard?.

Sounds like its a little bit more to this that has been reported.

ouch that sucks…if your harware has the option of macros and you use them…how is that cheating?
Fair enough to be honest, if he was using a dodgy macro that is.

Blizzard need to start banning more players, specifically all the gold cheaters out there (largely those buying/farming it, and imho those using one alt just as a gold farm)
We have looked into this matter and haven’t found reasonable cause to disallow usage of its functions for use in world of Warcraft.

We do, however, reserve the right to come back to this statement at a later point, at which we will inform our players.

Quote is from WoW Admin on the forums… (that is the keyboard is NOT illegal in game)

Neither is the macros that you can write….

BUT the guy was using this to exploit things while he was NOT at his machine, to raise weapon skill.

He was messaged by GM's and did not response. It was determined that he was exploiting and banned accordingly.
