PRESS RELEASE

(February 19, 2013) Currys and PC World today announce the launch of an innovative, one of a kind ‘Gaming Bunker' housed at its flagship Tottenham Court Road store.  The bunker is the UK's biggest interactive space dedicated solely to PC gaming accessories and the only spot in the UK where gamers can trial some of the highest-spec gaming technology on the market.

The Gaming Bunker boasts 10 networked PCs, all high-end builds powered by NvidiaGeforceGTX680 graphics cards and custom built using Asus, Corsair, Intel and Western Digital parts. The PCs will be fully loaded with some of the best new free-to-play games including Hawken, League of Legends, World of Tanks and Planteside 2, as well as Assassin's Creed 3 and Borderlands 2.

Filling the 500sq ft bunker, the 150-strong product range features the biggest brands in the industry such as Razer, TurtleBeach, SteelSeries, Corsair, MadCatz, Roccat and Logitech.  The Gaming Bunker will be frequently revamped with the latest top-spec technology, providing PC gamers with an up-to-date haven for all their gaming needs.  In addition, it will feature the most-sought after, high-spec hardware to enhance gameplay, including 7.1 wireless headsets, the highest DPI (dots per inch) mice and fully-programmable keyboards (complete with in-built LED screens).

The space also represents Razer's largest ever 'Epic' in-store display - featuring the full range of Razer products and the only Razer Blade gaming laptop on public display in Europe - and incorporates a Turtle Beach Headset selector and testing area. Both areas represent unique purpose built stands exclusive to the Gaming Bunker.

Simon Urquhart, Category Manager for PC Gaming Peripherals and Upgrades at Currys PC World said: "We're incredibly excited to unveil the Gaming Bunker at our Tottenham Court Road store.  The store has a great track record for hosting launches and events, so it's the perfect place for the UK's newest PC gaming destination; the most interactive space of its kind.

"We look forward to introducing gamers to the best mice, keyboards, headsets and other essential PC gaming gear.  But as well as being the best place to try out these superb products, we hope the gaming community will enjoy coming to events, launches and tournaments and get involved in making the Gaming Bunker a hub of PC gaming and eSports in the heart of London."

The Gaming Bunker at Currys & PC World Tottenham Court Road is fully open to the public from today*.

*There is no restriction on time allowed in the Gaming Bunker, however staff are on hand to make sure everyone can have time to play and test the kit
