Barcelona, Spain, Feb. 14, 2011 – LG Electronics (LG) returns to Barcelona this year to introduce two new flagship devices at Mobile World Congress: the LG Optimus 3D, the world’s first full 3D smartphone, and the 3D-enabled LG Optimus Pad, a true 8.9” Android tablet designed to offer the full viewing experience of a tablet while still being easy to hold with one hand.

Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said, “I’m confident that this year LG will emerge as a leader in the next generation of smartphone and tablet devices. What you see here today is just the beginning. We will continue to innovate with products that address consumer needs and deliver benefits that live up to our ‘Life’s Good’ commitment.”

3D Recording-Viewing-Sharing
The LG Optimus 3D’s dual 5MP lens camera allows users to capture and record 3D images and video anytime, anywhere. The bright 4.3-inch WVGA display lets users to view content without the use of glasses both in 2D (up to 1080p) and 3D (up to 720p). Users can also navigate through the device’s 3D interface with the click of LG’s unique 3D Hot Key, which presents five 3D-dedicated UIs, including Gallery, Camera, Game&Apps, YouTube 3D and 3D Guide.

3D content can easily be shared on 3D TVs and monitors via an HDMI 1.4 connection or users can upload and stream their 3D creations on YouTube’s dedicated 3D channel (youtube.com/3D) directly from their handset.

The LG Optimus 3D showcases the superior speed and power made possible with LG’s unique “tri-dual” technology: dual-core, dual-channel and dual-memory. Unlike other dual-core smartphones, the LG Optimus 3D offers significant performance benefits as a result of the faster transfer of data between the dual-core and dual-memory. This enables users to browse web pages, multitask between programs, play games at a higher frame rate and enjoy movies more smoothly than ever before.
