Tony Hawk's, Super Monkey Ball, Wii sports

Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam
Publisher: Ubisoft

Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam will let players experience the breakneck speed of downhill skateboard racing as they tear up, or rather, down the steepest terrains in the world while performing tricks and out-maneuvering opponents in locations such San Francisco and the rocky terrain of Machu Picchu... which should be fun as one little bit of grit would always jam my wheels…

Players can crouch for more speed, jump or grind over obstacles and pull off all of their favourite air tricks to gain boost as they race down some of the steepest terrains in the world. There’s a variety of skateboards on offer from current models through to old school “fishtails,” longboards and 70’s skateboards, all of which have different attributes that will have an effect on gameplay.

We reckon Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam will make your wrists ache so much that it could be the downfall of the game. Initially previews suggest that the game is fairly average, but that the Wii-mote does work extremely well in steering the skateboard.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Publisher: Sega

The single-player puzzle levels in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz have been innovatively designed to challenge gamers' skills like never before. For the first time in the Super Monkey Ball franchise, AiAi and his friends will have the ability to jump when players flick the Nintendo Revolution controller in an upward motion. The ability to jump has given game designers another dimension in which to expand the Super Monkey Ball gameplay experience and allows gamers a whole new way to interact with the franchise; this time in true three-dimensional fashion.

Super Monkey Ball : Banana Blitz looks as though it will be one of the better launch titles with its impeccable presentation and tons of puzzles that should demonstrate the flexibility of the Wii-mote.

Wii Sports
Publisher: Nintendo

Wii Sports is included with every Wii console and consists of five different sports games in one. Making full use of Nintendo’s revolutionary motion sensitive controller, get ready for a life-like experience of playing tennis, golf, baseball, bowling and boxing, all in the comfort of your own living room.

Wii sports will be a great game to play socially. We had a ball whilst playing boxing, tennis and bowling within a group, but as a solo experience it may wear thin very quickly.

The Wii Sports titles all have extremely basic graphics and simple, but impressive controls. Wii Sports is uncomplicated fun that will change the way we view our Saturday night entertainment. We’ve already got a Wii sport’s party planned!

Ouch not too excited by these launch titles :( Zelda naturally looks great but I'm not sure about the rest of the titles.
Rampage: total destruction? Great! The original was one of my favorites :)

yeah, i don't think it's the best line-up ever. Most the games have had very average reviews in the US, apart from Zelda.
Its a shame theyve pushed mario and metroid so far back. I reckon theyll be the real ones to have.
yeah i was going to say.. no mario yet.. *sobs*

Looks very varied though.
