Rayman, Red Steel Wii Sports, Zelda, Splinter Cell

Rayman Raving Rabbids
Publisher: Ubisoft

This new Rayman game features the funniest, zaniest, wackiest antics ever when the world of Rayman is threatened by a devastating invasion of demonic rabbits! With the help of magical creatures, Rayman must battle to save his world from the bunnies.

Rayman Raving Rabbids is the game that we’ve had the most fun playing. We’re yet to play the story mode, which we understand is extremely short, but we ploughed through numerous mini-games, which cater for up to 4 players in split screen, and it displayed just how well the Wii-mote and Nunchuck can work together in a variety of differing and entertaining ways.

The crazy bunny themed mini-games totally shattered my expectations of what we expected from the latest Rayman game. It showcased how versatile and effective the Wii contollers are in a whole range of different scenarios on screen and whether it be tilting, shaking or rotating them the game responded precisely to our hand movements.

Red Steel
Publisher: Ubisoft

Red Steel is an exclusive Revolution launch title that takes full advantage of the console’s innovative controller and puts players directly into the action-packed first-person experience with the weapon in their hand – literally.

An engaging storyline unfolds as you learn that your fiancée has been kidnapped and her father – a Japanese mafia kingpin – murdered by a rival gang. The only way to save your loved one and defend your honor is to journey from Los Angeles to Japan and confront the Tokyo underworld.

Red Steel has been touted as the must-have Wii game at launch. We’ve spent a very short time playing Red Steel and although the samurai style fights are entertaining, the novelty of using the Wii-mote as a gun soon wears off and you’re left with a rather average shooter.

The Legend of Zelda : Twilight Princess
Publisher: Nintendo

Link and the characters he meets on his journey appear even more vibrant and exciting than ever with the attention to detail, both in the field and the game’s many dungeons, being awe-inspiring. This attention to detail, both in the look and feel of the game but also to the sounds and music creates the unique atmosphere of the Zelda universe and makes you feel you are actually in the game.

When we played Zelda we lost interest in every other game. The characters were mesmeising, the story immediately hooked us in, the design and detail of the world was outstanding and the controls mapped well to the Wii-mote. It goes without saying that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is the best of the Wii launch titles.

Tom Clancy’s Spinter Cell: Double Agent
Publisher: Ubisoft

Veteran agent Sam Fisher is back. But he's never faced an enemy like this before. To stop a devastating terrorist attack, he must infiltrate a vicious terrorist group and destroy it from within. For the first time ever, experience the relentless tension and gut-wrenching dilemmas of life as a double agent. As you infiltrate a terrorist organisation in its American headquarters, you must carefully weigh the consequences of your actions. Kill too many criminals and you'll blow your cover. Hesitate too long and millions will die. Do whatever it takes to complete your mission, but get out alive.

The controls of Spinter Cell: Double Agent are difficult enough on a joypad, so we’re not overconfident on how Ubisoft will map these controls to the Wii-mote. We haven’t yet played the title, but we’re looking forward to seeing exactly how it pans out.
