Tommy on picking up chicks, his dream concert venue and the psychological test.

HEXUS: Do you have any TV or Radio appearances planned in the U.K.?
Tommy: Yes. In fact a lot of that stuff if being worked out right now. There is a press tour planned. Video Games Live is really going to open some interesting doors and commentary for a lot of people. A show such as ours is really helping to usher in a whole new generation of people to see a symphony. We’re also taking the symphony’s in a completely new direction by adding electronics, visuals, synchronized special fx, interactive segments with the crowd, etc.

HEXUS: If you could perform a concert anywhere in the world where would it be and what one piece would you choose for the finale?
Tommy: Wow… that’s a tough question because we’ve already played the Hollywood Bowl and “One Winged Angel” from Final Fantasy VII so I’m gonna have to pick something else. How about a full Wembley Arena with tens of thousands of people rockin’ out to the Mario Bros. music with the London Philharmonic! (you asked!)

HEXUS: Sounds great! You’re performing the Halo 3 soundtrack as part of the Video Games Live concerts right? Can we be cheeky and ask you if you’ve seen any of the game, and if so, can you give us any snippets of information?
Tommy: The only thing I’ve really seen on Halo 3 is what everyone else has seen but I’m good friends with Marty O’Donnell (composer of the Halo music) and he is really excited about what their doing for the next one. He promises it will be coming in 2007 so I’ll be really looking forward to what Bungie has in store for us using the next gen technology of the 360.

HEXUS: One of the HEXUS readers wants to know if you’ve found it easier to ‘pick up chicks’ since you’ve become famous?
Tommy: Er… Easier? No. More? Yes. 

HEXUS: Would there be any chance of blagging a couple of free tickets for the U.K. show? My fiancée thinks you’re hot and we’d love to see the show?
Tommy: Of course… but just don’t tell all the other journalists cause then they’ll be e-mailing us too! (laughs) So, um… got any pics of your fiancée? When is the wedding date exactly?

HEXUS: Of course, here's a picture. She can't wait to meet you.

HEXUS: Can you please take our psychological test? There is no catch! Just one word answers please:
Time Crisis or Advent Rising?
Tommy: Advent Rising

HEXUS: Xbox 360 or PS3?
Tommy: PS3

HEXUS: Massachusetts of California?
Tommy: California

HEXUS: Marc Ecko (Oblivion soundtrack) or Jesper Kyd (Hitman)
Tommy: Jesper Kyd

HEXUS: T.V studio or live stage performance?
Tommy: Live stage performance

HEXUS: Beer or Gin & Tonic?
Tommy: Neither. I don’t drink and never have. Cranberry juice please.

HEXUS: Comedy movies or psychological thrillers?
Tommy: Thrillers

HEXUS: Mcdonalds or Burger King?
Tommy: McDonalds

HEXUS: Many thanks for your time and we wish you every success with Video Games Live and all of your other projects!
Tommy: Thank-you so much for covering the show. Our hardest challenge has always been to raise awareness for what Video Games Live is all about. It’s such a unique concept which really needs to be experienced to fully understand. But providing people with any information is really helpful in spreading our message of the importance of video games as an artistic and cultural artform.

Thanks!

Tommy
