3. Starcraft 2
"The long wait for the arrival of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty has been worth it. Alongside a compelling single player campaign that features and improves on the trademark fast-paced, hard-hitting, tightly balanced competitive real-time strategy gameplay of the original, is the brilliant multiplayer support with a host of new competitive features and matchmaking utilities, as well as full map-making and scripting tools to ensure that fans can keep the game alive for a long time to come."

4. Battlefield Bad Company 2
"There are some brilliant moments in Bad Company 2, but there are also times where it feels like a run-of-the-mill shooter, particularly early on. There are plenty of highlights though in the single player campaign, which took us about 8 hours to complete, and some enjoyable missions and locations to fight across. It's a massive shame there isn't a co-op mode, because that would have elevated our score a bit higher, but overall it's an action-packed weekend's worth of action and a fitting and enjoyable campaign to get you warmed up for multiplayer, which is really where the game excels."

5. Red Dead Redemption
"You shouldn't need any encouragement to play Red Dead Redemption; it's a brilliant game both offline and online. The Wild West was always going to make a great backdrop for video games, but as Call of Juarez and Gun has proven in the past it’s a hard genre to master, until now that is. What Rockstar has created with Red Dead Redemption is game that will thrill fans of the Wild West with its true-grit, attention to detail, stunning visuals and mass variety. Quite simply put: this is the best Wild West game ever. "

Its cool to see a list that has no Call of Duty in there like the past few years!
Well deserved title for Mass Effect in my opinion.

Solid list overall as well - all good games that have been pretty well received by everyone on Hexus.
Fallout NV is a very good game but it has been let down badly with bugs and conflicting quests (quests the conflict with other, none related quests due to bugs in characters etc)
I completely agree with ME2 getting number one - a truly outstanding game. I don't think I voted (don't remember seeing it anyway) but that's what I would have voted for. I'm also glad to see BC2 in the list, I don't think it's up there at the top and it's position is about right IMO. And I'm glad to see the latest overpriced CoD map pack has been left out for a change, maybe I'm not the only one fed up getting the same game over and over again?
Yup I voted for ME2 as game of the year. Well deserved winner.
