Honor has just launched a brand new flagship smartphone in the UK. The Honor 8 Pro is the latest addition to the Honor 8 series. Standout features of the Honor 8 Pro are its ultra-thin 6.97mm body, a 5.7-inch QHD screen, fast processing, abundant memory and storage, and a 4,000mAh battery said to provide up to two full days of run-time.
Honor describes the Honor 8 Pro battery as its highest performing to date. "We know that a big bugbear for smartphone users who live an always-on fast-paced life is often the battery of their device cutting out at a pivotal moment, whether they are reaching the climax of a film, on the verge of completing the top level of a game or capturing a winning shot on holiday. We're a power reliant generation," said Wilkin Lee, Sales and Marketing Manager for Honor UK. "With the Honor 8 Pro, we've gone to great lengths to make sure our users are equipped with the best battery performance so they can make the most of the handset’s other impressive capabilities and maximise online experiences."

Listed above you can see the Kirin 960 processor is installed. This uses ARM Cortex A73 cores for high-performance and the low-power Cortex A53 cores during less taxing activities. A Vulkan-supporting ARM Mali-G71 is part of the SoC. The extra graphical grunt works well with the QHD display and bundled Google Cardboard compatible VR headset inside the smartphone box, says Honor.
'Smartphonographers' might be interested in the Honor 8 Pro as it packs a third generation 12-megapixel dual-lens (f/0.95–f/16) camera, and plenty of built in storage (64GB) plus microSD card support for cards up to 128GB. One of the sensors is RGB and the other is monochrome and together they work to create vivid images with an "incredible depth of detail". 4K video recording is supported by the device which uses H.265 compression for files "twice as small as its predecessor". In collaboration with GoPro, Honor has introduced 'Highlights' for auto-organisation of photos and auto-generation of video stories.
The Honor 8 Pro comes with Android 7 (Nougat) installed and Honor's EMUI 5.1 system. This latest version of EMUI is said to be smarter than ever for learning user behaviour and thus optimising its performance, minimising lag. For example, if it sees a user launches Facebook every morning at 8am - it will note this behaviour and pre-load the app in the background so it is ready.
In an email to HEXUS, Honor said that the Honor 8 Pro can be pre-ordered today from Honor's vMall.eu or purchased from Amazon from Thursday 20th April 2017. It will initially be available in Navy Blue. RRP has been set at £474.99.
