Though car manufacturer Aston Martin has today been dubbed the “coolest brand” in Britain, technology heavyweights BlackBerry and Apple also made it into a coveted top-ten list that is glistening with quality brands.

Social media channel YouTube and Internet kingpin Google also made the final cut in this year's CoolBrands survey, which is voted for every year by consumers, leading businessmen and marketing experts.

Other interesting snippets taken from the survey include the fact that women voted as rigorously as males for the tech brands, with 47 per cent voting for Apple and 44 per cent voting for BlackBerry. Other results of note include PlayStation being voted 13th "coolest" brand. Skype also got a look-in, scooping the honours in the category of "coolest" mobile telecommunications.

The top ten “coolest brands” were confirmed as:
1. Aston Martin
2. Apple
3. Harley-Davidson
4. Rolex
5. Bang & Olufsen
6. BlackBerry
7. Google
8. Ferrari
9. Nike
10. YouTube

"Votes are based on a wide criteria of factors but these brands are clearly delivering cool in the eyes of consumers and influencers alike," said Stephen Cheliotis, chairman of the CoolBrands Expert Council.
