G- whizz
Gmail addicts rejoice, because a film producer from Venice, California, has come up with the perfect gift for you this season: the Gboard - a keyboard especially for Google email users.
Those who have used Gmail for a while now will know that the service has a bunch of shortcuts - 69, in fact - supposedly there to make life simpler, but the truth is they're often either irrelevant or just plain confusing for the non-tech-savvy user.
Enter the $20 Gboard by Charlie Mason, a specialised mini-keyboard with 19 different coloured keys which allows users to star messages, flip between email threads, search and more, all whilst acting like a standard num-pad when used outside of Gmail.
The keyboard can be plugged into a user's machine via USB and needs neither software nor drivers, but Gmailers will have to enable Gmail's keyboard shortcuts in their settings tab before their new addition can work its shortcut magic.
Question is, however, whether the Gboard will really hit the g-spot for most Christmas shoppers. After all, for those who know the shortcuts, the keyboard is redundant, and for those who don't know the shortcuts, well, would they really want one anyway?
