Sky has introduced a new red-button service for Sky Movies offering a choice of trailers for the current day's movies, plus information about each of them including cast, certificate, star-rating and a short review.
Subscribers also get an "easy-to-use" movie planner to tell them what's on and when each film starts, along with splash screens to tell them about movie premieres.
The new red-button service can be accessed by Sky Movies viewers by pressing the red button while watching any Sky Movies channel
Commenting about the new offering, the head of Sky Movies Networked Media, Mike Taylor said, "Sky is constantly looking for ways of adding value for our customers. This new red button service, designed to deliver a more immersive movie experience, is another significant enhancement to Sky Movies, after the recent launches of Sky Movies by broadband and Sky Movies By Mobile."
Sky says that its also planning additional enhancements to the Sky Movies service over the coming months including:
· Enhanced functionality - viewers will be able to set reminders or record onto Sky+
· Straps and ticker - to provide manageable navigation and extra information
· A genre-based "Mood Matcher" to split the Sky Movies schedule into "easy-to-digest" chunks
· Themed "Day Parts" - different sets of trailers for different times of the day.
