Virgin Media has continued its 2010 high definition expansion by announcing that Film4 HD and E4 HD will launch on its digital TV platform this summer.
Film4 HD, launching exclusively on Virgin Media, will showcase British movies such as Slumdog Millionaire, Happy Go Lucky and Looking for Eric in high definition, in addition to a number of Hollywood blockbusters and exclusive movie-related programming.
E4 HD, already available via rival service Sky+HD, will also be making its way to Virgin Media as the provider expands its number of high-definition channels to 11.
Virgin Media's HD line-up consists of C4HD, BBC HD, ESPN HD, FX HD, MTVN HD, National Geographic HD and LIVING HD, with a further two channels set to launch in the spring; Eurosport HD and Discovery HD. Film4 HD and E4 HD are then scheduled to become available in the summer.

As more and more households become HD-ready, we’re lining up content that makes the most of High Definition and are making HD available to all our of customers for no extra fee."
BBC HD and 4HD are freely available to all Virgin Media customers equipped with a V+HD receiver, whilst access to all other HD channels is available to all XL TV subscribers.
