M. Night Shyamalan back to prove a point

Critics and viewers alike have been quick to criticise M. Night Shyamalan and with recent movies such as The Village and Lady In The Water, they perhaps have every reason.

Let's however not forget some of Shyamalan's better work, namely The Sixth Sense and Signs. The Sixth Sense was exceptional and it truly scared the bejesus outta me.

On June 13th 2008, Shyamalan's latest movie, The Happening, comes to UK cinema screens and this is Shyamalan's big chance to prove that he does still have what it takes to grip the an audience.

Directed and written by Shyamalan himself, the movie stars Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel and tells the tale of a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity.

The teaser trailer, viewable below, made its debut today and looks quite promising. Could The Happening be a return to form for Shyamalan? Share your thoughts in the HEXUS community.

He really knows how to make trailers. Not so sure about the complete movies though.

Every single one of his trailers have looked really promising - but only Sixth Sense and Unbreakable delivered. The other failed to deliver to larger or smaller extent depending on what your impressions were from the trailer.
