Wall-E, as adorable as they come
I made my feelings clearly known when the Wall-E trailer landed last December. The movie, scheduled for release in the UK on July 18th, tells the story of a robot called Wall-E and what Disney Pixar has on its hands here is one of the cutest characters I've ever seen.
Despite having seen only trailers and small clips, I already want to see the movie, twice, and I already want to buy the merchandise. He really is just that adorable. When the original trailer aired last year, I likened the character to E.T. and that resemblance still remains.
Those of us who aren't quality-conscious can see the YouTube version of Wall-E's Super Bowl spot below, if you prefer a better resolution however, head over to Disney.com.
One of the reasons that Wall-E has the potential to become a truly memorable character is that the robot itself is without a mouth and subsequently mute. Yet, its on screen behaviour gives a delightful insight as to its personality and there's a charm that is clear for all to see. There are a lot of high profile movies in store for 2008 and Wall-E is definitely one of them.
