Compro has combined DVB-S reception with analogue video and audio capture to create the VideoMate S350 - its latest PCI TV tuner card.
The card can receive digital satellite television using the DVB-S standard, supporting up to 1080i HDTV from broadcasts. Also included on the card are analogue inputs for composite video, S-video and L/R, to allow the capture and recording of A/V from analogue sources.
Recordings from analogue can be in MPEG-1, 2 or 4 compression formats. Satellite broadcasts support the usual viewing features, such as time-shift and channel surfing, along with power-up scheduled recording, where the computer can be auto-boot-up to make a scheduled recording.
A BDA driver is used with Microsoft Windows, so if you prefer some other BDA-compatible program instead of Compro's offering, that should work with the S350, too.
