Compro showcased its VideoMate S350/300 PCI-based digital satellite TV tuner cards at CeBIT 2006.
The name gives most of the game away, as the PCI card allows you to watch free-to-air digital satellite TV on your PC. Supporting HDTV up to 1080i and carrying most of the software feature-set found on other high-end Compro SKUs (Power Up Scheduled Recording, remote control, advanced picture-in-picture, picture-out-of-picture), the S300/350 also support analogue video-capture for MPEG1/2/4 recording and MPEG2 recording in digital, as well as timeshifting and teletext.
The difference between the two SKUs rests with the remote control and available states for power-up scheduling. The S350 offers a larger 37-key ergonomic remote control while the S300 comes with a 32-key card. Further, the S300 only offers power-up scheduled recording from S3/S4, whilst the S350 offers additional S5 support.
Be nice to see a PCIe version, seeing as modern motherboards are cutting down on PCI support.
