Following on from its big-screen freesat-ready Plasma screens, Panasonic has now announced two slightly smaller panels of the LCD variety.

The new products, known officially as the LZD81 series, will be available later this month in 32in and 37in models.

With a freesat receiver built-in, users with a satellite dish can look forward to subscription-free high-definition programming without the need of a set-top box.

Both displays offer a full-HD resolution (1,920x1,080), a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a generous 178-degree viewing angle, and Panasonic's latest picture processing technology V-Real Pro 3. There are three HDMI 1.3 inputs, two Scart sockets and an SD memory card reader, too.

It's a tempting piece of kit, and ideal for those looking to take advantage of what freesat has to offer. There's no word on pricing, but these LCDs should be far more accessible than the bigger freesat-ready Plasma screens already on offer.

Earlier this week, freesat reached its first major milestone; 100,000 sales.
