PRESS RELEASE

Sky Store gives customers the simplicity and convenience of a digital movie download with the added bonus of the original DVD sent by post, all for one price

Sky today announces its ‘Buy & Keep' movie service, a brand new addition to Sky Store, which means connected Sky customers can for the first time buy movies as well as renting them.

Launching in the coming weeks, Sky customers will have access to a full digital movie store directly on their TV via their Sky+HD box letting them buy, watch and keep many of the latest and best movies as soon as they're released as well as some of Hollywood's best loved classics, all at the touch of a button on their Sky remote.

Better still, those who buy movies through ‘Buy & Keep' will also receive a DVD copy of their chosen film in the post a few days later - meaning customers will now have the benefit of owning both a digital and physical copy of their favourite movies.

Sky Store ‘Buy & Keep' offers brand new movies at the same time as their DVD release, with many titles available for digital early release. Once people have selected the movie they want to buy, it is saved straight to their Sky+HD box and is available to watch in minutes.  Once saved on the box, the movie is theirs to enjoy again and again, regardless of whether they move house or change Sky boxes in the future.

Sky Store ‘Buy & Keep' will launch with hundreds of titles, including Warner Bros' epic adventure and box office hit ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug', family fun animation ‘Turbo', the Richard Curtis romantic comedy ‘About Time', as well as ‘Life of Pi' and ‘The Wolverine', along with many other titles from 20th Century Fox and NBCUniversal.

Over the coming weeks  Martin Scorsese's ‘The Wolf of Wall Street', ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty',  ‘Mandela' featuring Idris Elba's Golden Globe® nominated performance and the upcoming ‘Lone Survivor' starring Mark Wahlberg will also be available. New movies will be available each week and a wide selection of titles will be added as other deals are confirmed with movie studios.

As the service is further enhanced over the next year customers will also be able to access the movies they've bought via tablets and smartphones. In the future TV box sets will also be made available and Sky Store ‘Buy & Keep' will become accessible to anyone who does not yet have Sky TV through www.skystore.com.

Nicola Bamford, Director of Sky Store said, "We know millions of people love to buy films and now it becomes even easier to do it straight from your sofa with Sky Store. The ability to now own a copy of your favourite film using ‘Buy & Keep' is the perfect solution for any film fans wanting the immediacy of enjoying the latest movies on your main TV, with the added benefit of receiving the original DVD in the post."

Ian LewisDirector of Sky Movies and Acquisitions said, "Sky customers already account for around half of all DVD and Blu-ray purchases in the UK, so we know they love owning movies.  With Sky Store ‘Buy & Keep' we're now offering our customers yet another way to enjoy the best in movies.  So whether it's subscribing to Sky Movies or renting or buying through Sky Store, our customers have access to movies on their terms. We're delighted to be able to offer our customers a huge range of films to buy through Sky Store, from the latest releases to Hollywood favourites, with even more titles to come in the future."

‘Buy & Keep' from Sky Store further expands the comprehensive range of movie services offered by Sky to cater for the needs for every type of film fan -  whether they're looking to own, rent or have unlimited access to a subscription service like Sky Movies, which offers over 800 movies live and on demand.

Sky is the UK's number one connected TV platform with 4.4 million customers now enjoying the many different on demand services available. To access these, Sky TV customers simply need to connect their compatible Sky+HD set-top box to broadband.
