First speaker in the world to ‘AirPlay' with WMM and to run on new JB3.0 platform
June 2012 - Copenhagen-based audio company Libratone, a developer of innovative wireless sound solutions is pleased to introduce version 2.00 of the Libratone app. Available now for download from the Apple App Store, the app adds new features and functionality to the Live and Lounge AirPlay speakers, as well as updating the firmware of the speaker wirelessly. The new app and firmware updates improve AirPlay performance significantly, with fewer dropouts and better stability. This is partly due to Libratone being the first company to ‘AirPlay' with WMM (WiFi Multi Media quality of service), which ensures priority to AirPlay streaming on a busy network. Additionally, the Libratone software is the first AirPlay software in the world to run on the new JB3.0 platform.
Audio is also optimised via the new app and Libratone's patented FullRoomTM technology. Through ‘fingertip control', users just need to provide the app with a few bits of information about the placement of their sound system and the speaker will adjust the sound accordingly. Users will notice a deeper and more controlled base response, a smooth mid-range as well as improved voice reproduction. Voice control and voicings are also part of the app functionality.
Additional new features of the Libratone app version 2.00 include:
- An even faster speaker start-up and connection time
- Improved WiFi signal sensitivity for better AirPlay connectivity
- A wireless signal strength feature displayed in the app enabling users to adjust the position of the speaker to get better network strength
- Improved support for national and special characters, enabling easy WiFi and password naming
- New Advanced Network Settings mode added to speaker set up page
- iOS 4.2 support (for older iPod touches)
- Firmware updates delivered via the app, ensuring users are getting any new features and functionality
