What now?

We asked if any former BEAST employees will be joining Wired2Fire, but George revealed that none of them were tempted to relocate to Dorking.

Intrigued by the contrasting fortunes of what appear to be two quite similar companies, we asked George how business is. Surprisingly, perhaps, he revealed that Wired2Fire has just had its best ever December.

On what he's doing right where other domestic system builders aren't, George revealed that Wired2Fire has grown cautiously in its five years of existence. Also, when they had a "disastrous" February 2008, they cut a lot of their print advertising and don't seem to be missing it.

While Wired2Fire and BEAST both produce overclocked gaming desktops, Wired2Fire specialises in air-cooled systems, while BEAST's emphasis is on liquid-cooled ones. George pointed out that building and maintaining liquid-cooled systems is a lot more labour intensive.

George also revealed that Wired2Fire sells larger numbers of systems than BEAST did and thus gets better rates from channel suppliers.

Apart from taking on the technical support burden from it, George also intends to run BEAST as a separate brand and he clearly believes he can succeed where the previous owners didn't. Best of luck to him.
