Searching for solace

Yahoo has kicked-off the retrospective season a clear month before the end of the year, by publishing a bunch of lists of what its UK users (probably around 3-4 percent of all searches) searched for online. They were apparently published on 15 November, but only announced today.

To be honest, the lists paint a pretty bleak and unflattering picture of a country preoccupied by economic worries, seeking solace in long-shots and voyeurism. But we won't editorialise the findings any further. Here are some selected lists for you to draw your own conclusions.

Why do I get the feeling that this list has been “sanitised” with pr0n searches excluded?
It's kinda sad and depressing that the majority of those queries were absolute brain rot.

At least that would be a healthy example of human society.
Let be honest we don't search for pr0n anymore, we all know where to go.

It is depressing how brain numbing most of that is, nevermind how the order of the news stories seems a bit wrong.

Probably hasn't - this is just the yahoo results I think, and the vast majority of people still use google :)
