China chaos
In related censorship news, Google admitted an earlier report that said it had been blocked in China may have actually been the result of a technical glitch which overegged the scale of the problem.
The search engine has reportedly been experiencing occasional disruptions in its China services since it reached a compromise with the Chinese authorities in its censorship of the mainland China site earlier this month.
According to Reuters, Goggle said: "Because of the way we measure accessibility in China, it's possible that our machines can overestimate the level of blockage. That appears to be what happened last night when there was a relatively small blockage. It appears now that users in China are accessing our properties normally."
However, Google shares reportedly shed between 1-2 percent upon the news the search giant could be having problems in China again, highlighting investors' concerns about the company's fragile position in the world's largest internet market in terms of users.
