Pann also discusses Yahoo!'s new ‘Ad Delivery Report', a sort of ad analytics tool allowing advertisers to check up on where their sales spiels are showing up on partner sites and how the traffic on those sites is performing for them. In order to live up to its "transparency and control" pledge, Yahoo! is also making available several tools which should allow advertisers to choose between running ads on either Yahoo! itself or on its partner networks, using something called "Network Distribution."

Yahoo! is also showing off its new search-results page, which purports to make it easier for users to "discover new information, explore related concepts, and filter search results by specific sites and types of content such as people, videos and discussion forums." Pann also posits his team is working on "search that learns" using mysterious "search science" to detect user intent, "by studying search behavior over time."

But realistically realising that beggars can't be choosers, Pann also writes that Yahoo! has "adjusted" its price policy "to better align what you pay with the value of the clicks you receive."  Of course, how permanent these adjustments are, with a Microsoft search deal around the corner, remains to be seen. You can't call all the shots when your slice of the search pie is, at best, 20 per cent.
