AMD is also trying to stress versatility and it looks like it wants IT departments to pick this card to a wide variety of professional implementations.

The FirePro 2450 is in fact the latest in a new family of ATI professional products called Multi View. This is presumably in reference to their support for up to four displays. FirePro Multi-View replaces the FireMV brand.

Here's the spec summary

  • Low profile half length quad monitor output solution
  • Support up to four independent DVI or VGA monitors Units (GPU)
  • Maximum digital resolution 1920x1200
  • Variable fan sink for higher MTBF
  • DirectX 10 and OpenGL 2.1 support
  • VHDCI Connectors
  • 512MB GDDR3 Memory
  • Native PCI Express® x16 & x1 Lane
  • Support for DX 10.1 and PCIe Gen 2

The 2450 is apparently available in the channel worldwide at a price of $499.
