New HP Notebook PCs fuse functionality, performance and entertainment
LAS VEGAS, USA, January 6, 2009 - HP today introduced two consumer notebook PCs and an enhanced version of the HP MediaSmart software, to maximise consumers' entertainment experiences.

HP Pavilion dv2 Entertainment Notebook PC: Exquisite design and rich entertainment combined
Spearheading HP's new product showcase is the HP Pavilion dv2 Entertainment Notebook PC, which harnesses a striking new thin and lightweight design with rich entertainment and full-featured productivity - all at an easily affordable price. For highly mobile consumers, students, and professionals, the HP Pavilion dv2 represents the next evolution in notebook experience and boasts a 12.1-inch diagonal WXGA LED display, up to 4GB memory and the new AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 (1.6GHz) Processor.
Consumers will have a choice of two striking finishes with matching HP Imprint designs on the palm rest: White,(1) a subtle pattern of cool grey flowing lines on a white background and Black, a glossy black finish with a discreet circular pattern, reminiscent of liquid, drops and bubbles.
At just 0.93 inches (2.4cm) thin and 1.8kg(2) in weight, the HP Pavilion dv2 combines exquisite thinness with big entertainment features. These include HP MediaSmart software offering all-in-one entertainment, including movies, music, photos and games; powerful ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3410 discrete graphics (optional) and up to 500GB(3) high-capacity hard drives with HP ProtectSmartTM hard drive protection.
In addition, it provides BluRay(4) DiscTM support, external optical disc drive options and full connectivity with three USB drives, HDMI, headphones, microphone, a 5-in-1 card reader, and optional embedded WWAN. Optional features include Solid State Drive for faster boot-up time and a backlight keyboard to work comfortably in a low-light environment.
The dv2 features magnesium casing for lightweight durability and is ENERGY STAR® qualified and EPEATTM Silver registered.
In addition, the new HP Universal Notebook Stand allows customers to elevate any 17-inch or below HP notebook PC, enabling a less cluttered work space and providing easier access to USB peripherals.
