Jeff Ittel to Lead New Dedicated Sales Division Focused on Embedded Solutions
PHOENIX -- The Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announces the launch of the Avnet Embedded division, and the appointment of Jeff Ittel as senior vice president to lead this division. The new sales division will focus on providing embedded solutions for customers in the Americas region. It will offer such products as single board computers, storage products drives, flat panels, operating systems and integration services.
Ittel, a 25-year industry veteran, will be responsible for all aspects of management for Avnet Embedded, including running the division and setting up the sales structure. He most recently served as senior vice president of marketing and business development for Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas (EMA), and has also served as senior vice president of Avnet EMA's semiconductor business group and president and director of the Avnet Cilicon product business group. He has been a corporate officer of Avnet, Inc. since 2003.
"The cost today for proprietary system design continues to rise, while embedded solutions offer early access to key technology, and help our customers get their products to market faster -- at a lower cost," said Ittel. "In the past few years, we have seen increased demand for these products from our customers across multiple industries, and, as that trend continues, we want to intensify our own focus in this area."
Ittel will report directly to Ed Smith, president of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. "The Avnet team remains committed to making our organization more efficient and easier to do business with. As such, we will continue to evolve our business to match the demands of the marketplace," said Smith. "I have every confidence in the experience and leadership ability that Jeff will provide to our team, as well as the value he will help drive to our customers and suppliers in the embedded marketplace."
