Quotation tool allows resellers to prepare tailor-made quotes for their customers
BRUSSELS (Belgium), May 18, 2009 - Ingram Micro EMEA, a division of Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, today announced the implementation of new functionalities on Ingram Micro's industry leading web site, www.IngramMicro.com, including a new Quotation tool that is easy to use for resellers especially.
This new functionality has been successfully implemented and carries many significant enhancements. Among the basic functions that they can perform, the resellers will be able to: include Ingram Micro and non-Ingram Micro products to the quote, include their own services, include product recommendations (cross-sell based on Ingram Micro's featured add-on products), add any shipment costs, define the mark-up they want to make on the quote (% or monetary value based), set quote validity/expiration. Ingram Micro's eBusiness offering also allows to select an existing end-user for the quote or create a new end-user, clone a quote to use it with different end-users, email the quote to the end-user directly from IngramMicro.com, and convert a quote to an order.
"It will now be more convenient and effective for our resellers to create and manage quotes for their end-user customers," said Jonathan Newman, Ingram Micro's Senior Director of Enterprise Web & EMEA eSolutions. "Resellers will have the ability to look at the quote preview before sending it to their customers, without any reference to Ingram Micro. In the future they will be able to upload their own company logo and further personalize their quote. They will also be warned when a quote they have sent to customers is about to expire. This new tool extends the support we provide for our resellers throughout their sales process from demand identification through to delivery. It definitely adds value for resellers who will benefit from the functionalities enhanced of our eBusiness offering."
"These latest enhancements fit with Ingram Micro's strategy to focus on enhancing our eBusiness capabilities, and I am confident that this will strengthen our web offering to resellers throughout our EMEA countries," Newman added.
