A different route

Most people are familiar with Netgear wireless routers - they're the ones that look a bit slicker and more Apple-y than, say, Linksys routers. But far fewer people - ourselves included - are aware of what a big player Netgear is in the B2B space.

We spoke to Jason Leung, a senior product manager at Netgear, who was over here in order to talk about 'democratizing' integrated IT solutions to SMBs. Netgear does a surprising amount of business in this area, and counts itself among the market leaders in the provision of security appliances, networking equipment and storage to SMBs.

Furthermore it has a 100 percent channel model, so Leung reckons there's a lot of potential business for UK VARs, especially since in his opinion the giants of these markets, such as Cisco and HP, underserve SMBs.

To conclude we discussed the changing nature of the security landscape, including high profile cases such as Wikileaks and the challenges posed by the wholesale move to the cloud.

Thats not a Hexus authorised cardigan. I might have let you get away with it had the logo been clearly showing on the shirt collar. :P

Nice video, although I have gone with Cisco (Linksys) router this time round.
