Final Thoughts and Rating
Asustor has proven that it has the wherewithal to create a well-rounded NAS that combines the right hardware and software in order to deliver a fast, reliable and feature-packed solution.Asustor's biggest challenge may be in convincing end users to look past the established names and adopt a relatively unknown entity. That's often easier said than done, and in aiming initially at the high-end market, Asustor hasn't made the decision any easier - its first-run products start at £400.
One of the company's first efforts, the AS-602T, is a powerful two-bay solution that delivers on most fronts. We're particularly impressed by the company's ADM operating system, which despite being in its infancy, provides stability, a wealth of features and ample scope for expansion through a built-in app repository.
We're looking forward to seeing what the company can deliver at lower price points, but as it stands, Asustor has proven that it has the wherewithal to create a well-rounded NAS that combines the right hardware and software in order to deliver a fast, reliable and feature-packed solution.
