Benchmarks: Power Consumption

Power consumption is as expected for a two-bay NAS solution powered by an Intel Atom processor. There's nothing out of the ordinary in our graphs, and the AS-602T's hard-disk standby mode works as expected. What's interesting is that Asustor is one of few NAS manufacturers to support an S3 sleep state. Users can send the NAS to sleep from within the operating system, or by holding the power button for a couple of seconds.

We found that the NAS consumes less than two watts when in sleep mode, and the advantage is that the unit is able to wake and restore connections almost instantly; as opposed to having to cold boot. And as you'd expect, the power scheduling feature can be used to define times for the NAS to enter and wake from sleep.
