Conclusion

... so if you need some memory for multiple Intel platforms, the F3-2133C9Q-16GXL is a good, safe bet.

Recent increases in the price of system memory has brought it back into sharper focus. We'd recommend users install at least 8GB, preferably 16GB, for smooth performance when multitasking.

Results in this review show there isn't a whole heap of performance to be gained when switching to low-latency memory running at an effective 2,133MHz, especially with a high-quality graphics card in the system.

G.Skill, though, offers its quad-module RipjawsX DDR3-2,133MHz pack at pricing that's consistent with slower modules. What's more, if you're so inclined, the memory overclocks rather nicely, too.

When building a new system on anything other than an Intel X79 platform we'd opt for a dual-module pack of the largest capacity you can afford. But G.Skill's four modules show stability needn't be compromised when using all the slots, so if you need some memory for multiple Intel platforms, the F3-2133C9Q-16GXL is a good, safe bet.

The Good

Excellent stability via four modules
Good latencies for DDR3-2,133MHz memory
Look good, subjectively speaking
Small premium over generic memory

The Bad

Only available in red

Not a problem - for me at least - since the DIMM sockets are pretty much hidden under a hefty lump of cpu heat sink. Plus unless you're using a windowed case then you wouldn't be able to see them anyway.

Bought a set of Ballistix Tracer's this year - the activity lights turned out to be extremely helpful in diagnosing a fault. But those cost nearly £90 for 8GB of 1866GHz, so the GSkill's 16GB@2133 for £140 looks pretty good value to me.
nice that you reviewed on the 1 system that would show the actual benefit for having low lat 2133 ram - an AMD APU ….. oh wait , you didn't.
This won't really be relevant soon, they are going to be releasing DDR4 ram by the end of the year I would paste the article I read this from but it would seem I'm not allowed until I have 5 posts

It's at hardware pal though, labelled “ddr4 Memory will be released next month” it was made a few days ago, if you wanna go look at it
As the review says memory of this stature makes very little difference in boosting performance…would i would really like to see are reviews of memory also performed with an AMD APU and we can see what a difference it can make to graphical performece for integrated GPU's…..surely i am not the only one of this opinion?
I am mainly interested to see the effect this has on IGP performance on intel and AMD platforms, the graphics test in this review seems a bit pointless
