Ripple suppression
Ripple occurs when you convert the source 240V AC power into the DC current required by your components. This transformation stage, if not done properly, can foul cheaper supplies.
You wouldn't expect anything less than stellar performance when spending a significant chunk of cash. The HX 1000 does a decent job - the ATX spec for maximum 12V ripple is 120mV (peak to peak) and, according to our oscilloscope measurements, the HX 1000 is way, way below this. In other words, ripple suppression isn't going to be a problem.
