Benchmarks: Temperature and Noise
One of the complaints levelled at earlier P35X revisions was that fan noise was too intrusive. Gigabyte appears to have taken heed - the fan profile on the v5 refresh is smoother and less volatile, however the end results still aren't perfect.
The system has little trouble taming the Core i7 CPU, but the GeForce GPU hit 81ºC during our benchmarks, and at that point the chassis begins to get quite warm and the fans are clearly audible. That's perhaps to be expected, but the downside here is that Gigabyte's fans seem to be on at all times, so while idle noise levels aren't a deal breaker, the laptop is never as quiet as we'd like.
