Thoughts

At £400, the XFX represents decent current value in terms of what a high end graphics card will cost you. For the performance increase over X800 PRO and that card's current pricing, £400 doesn't appear to be too bad. Of course the pricing of both is rather more than we've been used to paying just before X800 and 6800 appeared, with end of line 9800XT and 5950 Ultra.

If you're prepared the pay the price however, there's a lot to recommend with the XFX. A good games bundle, attractive presentation and VIVO capability are the highlights, the board's intrinsic performance does the rest.

It overclocked well and the stock reference cooler isn't the loudest in the world. Should you wish to partake in a little next generation graphics action, you could do worse than give XFX that considerable chunk of change.

Recommended for the early-adopting enthusiast.

Score

9 out of 10

Pros

Excellent performance
Good presentation
Good games bundle
VIVO capability
Fairly quiet

Cons

Pricing still sits high at the time of writing, the old high-end price ceiling of £300 would be nicer

Thanks

XFX for the sample
