--- Thermal Performance, Conclusion and Certification

Thermal Performance

At idle, the OCZ Vindicator produced an average result. Its CPU reading of 45 degrees meant it tied for 14th place. The other readings at idle were higher than we expected but nothing too bad.

Under load, however, things started to get noticeably worse, with the Vindicator end up down in 23rd place. That made it very nearly the worst-performing actively-cooled unit on test. The Intel stock cooler even beat it by one degree!

Conclusion

Well what can we say? The Vindicator looked good on paper and in its box. But, our readings show that the Vindicator can't cope and isn't the ultra-high performance component it claims to be.

The packaging and the preparation has been done well, the cooler is relatively easy to fit and just as easy to remove. So, if it's paired with a low-heat CPU, it might turn out to be perfect. But, in our labs, and used in a high-heat test bed, it fell at the last hurdle.
