The Notables

We've not quite finished yet. Some coolers dashed our high expectations of them and some others missed out on a top-five overall spot but merit a further honourable mention.

We were most disappointed by the Thermalright Ultra-120 and the Noctua NH-U12F. They just didn't perform as we expected.

On a brighter note, the Titan Amanda did do well in the thermals. However, its weight is kind of scary and the cost a little frightening, too. Come on, now, £70 is a lot even for a specialist product aimed at the most serious of over-clockers.

The Cooler Master GemenII did okay in our performance tests but we wanted to see more from it. Like the Amanda, though, we hope to be back with another review in a larger chassis to discover just what it's truly capable of delivering.

The End

Well that's it. The End. Almost. We've put in over 150 lab hours and far in excesses of 200 hours of writing, editing and data crunching to deliver - in 25,000- plus words - the cooler review we started talking about all those months ago.

However, a review of this depth and breadth won't be complete until it's received your input - do please share your thoughts in the HEXUS.community. Your viewpoint is hugely important to us and to our future plans. It also allows others who read the review to put our words and opinions into perspective.

So, don't forget to tell us what you think about this review – overall and in detail – and let us know whether you'd like to see more such all-encompassing round-ups in future or would prefer your reviews in smaller, bite-size chunks.

I can't face reading it all but the conclusions are quite good. I knew the big typoon was good but didn't think it would win lol.

i would have liked to have seen the Scythe Ninja as well because I just bought one.

Sorry to nit pick at your huge test!!

Sick to death of installing CPU coolers yet ? :P
We had to say “enough is enough” :) We no doubt will be bringing more articles on cooling very very soon :)
Great review - shame I purchased the Thermalright ultra 120 Extreme yesterday but it was not included in the review. It's baby brother doesn't fair as well. Suprising given all the rave reviews it has had
