--- Appearance, Specification and Compatibility

Appearance

At 640g, the Zaward is no lightweight but heavier only than the Intel stock cooler and seven third-party coolers. With dimensions of 97(h) x 134(w) x 126(d) mm, it's reasonably compact, too.

Although the fin assembly is supported only by three 8mm heat-pipes, the whole thing feels pretty solid, with very little flex. Our sample, though, did point slightly downwards. The base of the cooler is a bit unusual, too, being topped by a small sink for additional heat dissipation.

Right up top, the main heat-sink is a ‘tribal-style’ job with 66 fins and has space for two 120mm fans – one above and one below. As standard, though, the Square ships with only one fan and that's how we tested it. A nice touch, is that screws for a second fan are included in-pack.

The Zaward Square also comes with a fan-controller, together with a breakout plate for optional rear mounting.
