Thoughts
All my issues with the KT12 were blown away with the KT03A. Better relative performance, no more tubing hassles and better packaging all combine to sort out the WaterChill experience. The Antarctica block certainly seems to aid performance. While I'd liked to have tested it against the old block, I'll take Asetek's word for it that the new design allows for lower temperatures. The good bits of the older kit also remain. Great push fittings, universal processor compatibility by way of the universal block lid, further swappable lids, quiet operation, piece-of-cake assembly. All remain to combine with the fixes and tweaks, to make the WaterChill Antarctica kits highly recommended.
The recent drop in WaterChill component price certainly doesn't hurt either. While the reviewed configuration is €350 from Asetek's web store, they sell basic kits for under €150 and all the parts are available seperately under the Do-Your-Own banner, should you wish to assemble something that Asetek don't make in complete kit form, or should you seek to upgrade an existing water-cooling setup, WaterChill or otherwise.
€350 is slightly more than I'd be willing to pay for the KT03A-L30's performance, but it does put up compelling reasons to sway you towards a purchase. That said, Asetek's web store has never been the cheapest place to snag yourself their products, so be sure and check out your favourite online WaterChill stockist for an even better deal.
Asetek are back on track with the current WaterChill products, the KT03A-L30 a stand-out example.
Highly recommended if you're into water-cooling.
