The MP45-DR and MP45-D measure just 165mm x 50mm x 165mm (WxHxD) and are based around Socket-P mainboards that support mobile Intel Core 2 Duo (Penryn) and Celeron CPUs.
Graphics will be provided by the upcoming GMA X4500 that promises DX10 compatibility - from both hardware and software viewpoints - and the ability to help the decode of Blu-ray content.
Highlighting the laptop heritage, the MP45 features dual-channel DDR2 SO-DIMMs.
The remote-control-driven MP45-DR model also packs in DVI, VGA, and HDMI (via a converter) connectivity, as well as Gigabit LAN and a Super MultiDrive. We wait for the model with Blu-ray capability, however.
Here's the underlying motherboard. Notice the two mini-card slots? One will probably be reserved for a WiFi card, and the other for general expansion.
AOpen claims an idle noise profile of just 22dB, so think of it as a glorified laptop base that looks rather cute.
No word on pricing or availability; expect it after Centrino 2 is officially rolled out.
