Being set inside a computer, it should come as little surprise that manufacturer's are going to start producing peripherals that tie in with Disney's upcoming Tron sequel. Gaming-hardware maker Razer is the latest to get in on the action with the a new mouse to go along with the film.

The pointer will let you live out your light-cycle fantasies across your mouse pad by drawing inspiration straight from the aesthetic of the films. Its body is a little more angular than Razer's normal mice giving it a more stylised look, and the edges are highlighted with panels that glow in a familiar shade of blue.

This would otherwise be a pretty ordinary tie-in, but Razer has gone the whole hog and included sound-effects pulled from the film that play at start-up and shutdown. And if that's not worth the price of admission, we're not sure what is.

Otherwise, the mouse is a fairly standard Razer accessory, featuring an ambidextrous design, 5,600dpi laser tracking, 1,000Hz polling, a 1ms response time and seven buttons. As with most of the company's mice, it's also wired.

Razer's Tron Gaming Mouse is available from the company's web site now for €99, or around £84. For a mouse without weight adjustment or on-board memory, this seems a little excessive, but for die-hard fans of the film series, it'll probably be a small price to pay. It's also the only pointer that will look right at home on top of the company's Tron mouse-mat that leaves a trail of light as you move over it. The two will be available soon in a bundle for €129, or around £110.

Obscenely expensive, and not for me, but I'm sure someone will buy it/them.
I bought the Razer Abyssus and I was not best impressed. It had a nice touch to it, but it was what it was, just a mouse.

So I probably wont be running out to get this one.

But as my fellow Hexite said someone will probably but it, like I did with my Abyssus.:o

I do on the other hand prefer the look of this one http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.219936100/parentCategoryID.35208800/categoryId.36716200:rockon:
when I first saw these 6 months ago I really wanted one… now I've seen the price I shan't bother

if I spot one in a bargain bin for £30 I might get one, but £80!?
The trail of light on the mousemat is a cool but completely useless feature.

Is it wrong I want one?
Razer Naga is quite good especially 12 extra buttons with macros
