DGS-3100-24P can be stacked with up to 5 other switches

D-Link's latest low-cost Gigabit stackable switch is the DGS-3100-24P, available now at a RRP of £945 +VAT, it includes two dedicated HDMI stacking ports, providing 5Gbps of stacking bandwidth each.

Up to six units can be stacked up in a linear or fault-tolerant ring topology, for up to 20 Gbps overall system bandwidth in full-duplex, bi-directional mode. Units can be gradually added to the stack to accommodate growth. In addition, 802.3ad Link Aggregation allows multi-Gigabit links to be created between switches or to servers.

Each of the DGS-3100's switch ports carry integrated 802.3af Power over Internet, allowing any 802.3af device to be powered by the switch using standard Ethernet cables.

Andrew Mulholland, UK Marketing Manager, D-Link, said: "D-Link fully understands the networking needs of SMBs and SMEs. Increasingly, they are looking for powerful, flexible Gigabit network backbone solutions with a low entry price. With its competitive pricing and flexibility, the DGS-3100 provides the ideal solution for organisations that want to maximize the performance of their network."
