Intel Centrino, as you probably know already, now contains the Core Solo and Duo processors, Intel's latest 65nm puppies, which pack performance and low power consumption into a single package.

At CeBIT, ECS is showing off five notebooks based around this latest Centrino platform (Napa.) They have quite an array of things going into these chassis, including digital cameras, analogue/digital TV tuners and more. Of course, for most, Core Duo will be the ear-pricking part...

Featuring the Intel Core Duo chip, NAPA platform notebooks consume, on average, three watts of power compared to around four watts consumed by leading competitors. The platform boosts average performance 68 percent beyond that of Intel’s current Sonoma platform, while reducing power consumption an average of 28 percent and extending battery life beyond the five-hour mark. It also improves wireless bandwidth and can help cut the size of a notebook by 30 percent versus today's machines.

Hopefully one of our guys on the show floor will get a chance to grab some snaps. Meanwhile, check out ECS' press release for more info.
