What's so special about this laptop, then? Well, according to Toshiba, it's the first in the world that is capable of reading HD DVD discs. This particular Qosimo model featured NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 graphics, a 17-inch widescreen LCD, and, of course, a slim HD DVD multi-combination drive.
Toshiba was the first company to develop triple-layer HD DVD discs, offering up 45GB of capacity per side. The wide range of high-resolution laptop screens will immediately benefit from HD-recorded footage, and the showcased Toshiba was equipped with a WUXGA (1920x1200) screen to make the most out of high-definition video.
Expect to see other manufacturers follow suit and offer HD DVD drives in their mid-to-high-end laptops.
